Emulsify Your Bath Salts with Essential Oils
Posted by Nurse Mary on 18th Jul 2024
Today we want to talk about relaxing.
Are your muscles achy? Are your feet sore? Are you feeling anxious or just need a good, restful night of sleep? Soaking your feet or taking a bath using bath salts that can relax your achy muscles and soothe anxious feelings works surprisingly well.
Did you know you can make the bath salts yourself? It is so easy - you simply add your favorite essential oils in Epsom salt. See our short video Emulsify Your Bath Salts with Essentia Oils:
Putting your Essential Oils in the Epsom salt allows the oils to emulsify into the water (that way they won’t burn your skin).
In the video above we show you how to do that. Here are our favorite recipes:
- 2 oz Epsom Salt with 2 drops Massage blend
- 2 oz Epsom Salt with 2 drops of Restful Blend
- And our 3rd is simply adding 3 drops of Lavender to the salts.
It really is this easy, as we say in the video, to make emulsifying bath salts. Simply use 2 oz of Epsom salts and 2 drops of your favorite essential oil.
The Massage blend is so good to relax achy muscles. The oils in Massage blend are: cypress, peppermint, marjoram, basil, grapefruit, lavender
To help calm anxious feelings or if you want to get a good night of sleep you might try using Restful Blend in a foot soak or bath. Restful blend has the essential oils of lavender, cedarwood, ylang ylang, marjoram, Roman chamomile, Hawaiian sandalwood, vetiver, and coriander.
Add the salts to a tub of nice, warm water, and feel the stress melt away.
Let’s not leave out the simple goodness of Lavender. It can be relaxing to the muscles and mind, but even better, it works great on a sunburn. Just add a couple drops to your bath salts before adding them to your bath. Allow the oils a few minutes to soak into the salts and you have the perfect recipe to relaxation.
We just wanted to drop a little relaxation in your day.
Until Next time - Be Well !
